What Is an Immersion Chiller?
Brewery cooling device that consists of a length of coiled tubing.
You drop the apparatus directly into the hot wort, and then connect with cooling fluid(usually is tap water from faucet)
As the cool water flows through the coil, it absorbs heat from the wort mix and therefore reduces its temperature.
Advantages of Using an Immersion Chiller:
There is a minimal risk of contamination as brewing wort is not cycled through a separate container.
Immersion chiller coils are cheap to purchase and economical to operate.
Clean up is easy too. You only need to wash the outside.
